A resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1994, Dr. Scott Epstein brings a combination of extraordinary academic training and compassionate, personalized medical services to the patients for whom he cares as Director of Wayne Physiatry, LLC. A practicing physician for over 30 years, Dr. Epstein has spent the last 25 years serving patients in Wayne County and the greater Northeastern Pennsylvania area.
A graduate of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Dr. Epstein received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania; his postgraduate internship in internal medicine was completed at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Epstein served his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University/Moss Rehabilitation in Philadelphia where he pursued postgraduate areas of study that included brain injury, electrodiagnostics, stroke rehabilitation, gait analysis, musculoskeletal medicine, and amputee rehabilitation.
Dr. Epstein specializes in inpatient rehabilitation, non-operative musculoskeletal and neurologic care, electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies, localized injections, and a holistic (medication and non-medication) approach to pain management.


Dr. Epstein is a respected and well-known medicolegal expert. He has performed independent medical examinations, for both plaintiff and defense, since 1997. He is experienced in testifying both via deposition and in court. He is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to perform impairment rating evaluations under the 4th, 5th and 6th editions of the American Medical Association’s Guides for the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
Dr. Epstein currently serves on the medical staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital as Chair of the Utilization Review Committee, as well as a member of the Credentials, Medical Executive, and Medical Care Committees. He has been the Medical Director of the Wayne Memorial Inpatient Rehabilitation Center since its opening in 2006.
Dr. Epstein is board certified, by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Northeast County Medical Society.
Dr. Epstein has been married to his wife Sandy since 1991. They have two children and live in South Abington Township, PA.
